Roger Bannister 70th Anniversary Mile Run

Congratulations to all the children who participated in the Sir Roger Bannister 70th Anniversary Mile Run on Friday, May 10th! ‍♂️ Your determination and sportsmanship are truly commendable. Those who achieved a place in the Top Ten in their categories have earned the opportunity to represent John Henry Newman in the upcoming Cross Country Race. It’s a testament to your hard work and dedication. Best of luck to our athletes as they prepare to compete against Pegasus, St. Mary & St. John’s, Our Lady’s, and St. John Fisher next Friday! Let’s show them what we’re made of!

Result: 4th out of 8 Primary Schools

Cross-Country @ JHNA – Friday 24th May

On Friday 24th May, St. John Fisher, St. Mary & St. John’s, Our Lady’s and Pegasus came to compete in a Cross-Country Race against the children at JHNA. The Year 3/4s ran 1,600m and Year 5/6 1,800m. Congratulations, to all that took part and thank you to the schools that attended and lastly a big congratulations to Reeya who came 1st, and Roselyn and Albie who came 2nd.


Santa Dash ’23

Thank you to everyone who participated, cheered on and helped with the organisation of Friday’s Santa Dash. It was great to see lots of fun being had! A massive thank you to Mrs. Simpson for baking the biscuits and cakes that were sold during the Santa Dash, to Miss. Knight for helping organise the House Captains, and to all the staff that ran around and dressed up.

Year 5 & 6 Indoor Athletics

On Wednesday 23rd January, the Year 5 & 6 Athletics Team attended The Oxford Academy. They took part in an Indoor Athletics Competition with 10 other schools. Angelo shone in the sprint races for the boys and Emeli, Yasmin & Aimee shone for the girls. We are awaiting the results to see where we finish, however I would like to say well done to everyone who took part & thank you to Mrs. Godfrey who attended to support the children too.
