John Henry Newman Academy Forest School

Welcome to the John Henry Newman Academy, where the wonders of outdoor learning await! Situated amidst our stunning campus, our forest school zone beckons with enchanting opportunities for exploration and discovery.

Venture out onto the field and discover our hidden forest school haven, complete with a tranquil pond, a bustling mud kitchen, a crackling fire pit, and more. Here, children embark on a journey of ecological enlightenment, delving into the intricate natural systems that sustain life on our planet.

In our forest school, students uncover the profound interconnectedness of organisms within these systems, fostering a deep appreciation for the environment and their role within it. Through observation, study, and conservation efforts, they discover the power of their actions in shaping and preserving their local surroundings.

Beyond academic pursuits, the forest school nurtures the holistic development of our students. As they navigate the wilderness, children cultivate physical motor skills, nurture self-confidence, and develop emotional awareness in harmony with the natural world.

Our forest school activities seamlessly align with the national curriculum, offering practical applications of classroom concepts in an outdoor setting. Whether exploring the properties of shapes amidst the trees, conducting captivating science experiments at the fire pit, or unraveling the meaning of words through woodland tales, every moment in the forest school is a lesson in connection and discovery.

At John Henry Newman Academy, we are privileged to possess not only a beautiful natural environment but also a dedicated space for immersive outdoor learning. Join us in the forest school, where curiosity flourishes, and the bonds between nature and knowledge grow ever stronger.
